Topic: Suicide Prevention

Speakers:
Dave Sauerman, Managing Director for the Construction & Engineering Division at CIBC Bank USA & Greg Brown, Partner Elect, Crowe

Description: According to the Centers for Disease Prevention, construction occupations have the highest rate of suicide, as well as the highest number of suicides across all occupational groups. To combat these statistics, contractors, unions, associations, industry service providers and project owners must work together to STAND up for suicide prevention.  The January meeting is a chance for participants to gain the following:

  • Understand the CFMA’s involvement with suicide prevention and mental awareness
  • Hear real life stories regarding mental health and suicide, along with lessons learned
  • Understand the looming health and safety issues mental health and suicide are having on the construction industry
  • Know where to find tools and resources to assist your company in STANDing up for suicide prevention
