During the last TX Legislative session, a new lien law was proposed that would have a dramatic financial impact on each of our company's rights and responsibilities. The proposal:
    • eliminated all rights to "fund trapping" notices that are oftentimes the catalyst that result in payments from the GC or owners.
    • requires a costly "pre-lien notice of furnishing" be provided at the beginning of every project, making your lien rights contingent upon gathering accurate project information at the time of order acceptance.
For those interested in hearing more, NACM is putting on an informational conference call on tomorrow, Friday, November 9th, 2018 at 2:30 PM CT.
    • Call in # 605-475-6777
    • Access Code: 2286105
There will be a few lawyers on the call from Bell Nunnally, JD Herberger, & Andrew Meyers.

    See attached.

Our company is a member of NACM and I find their training sessions extremely useful for our AR staff members.  I've even been to a few myself.
